As a former sponsored child, Samba understands firsthand the power of opportunity and support. His passion for giving back began early as a youth volunteer, mobilizing communities and coordinating youth activities—work that led to his appointment as Health Motivator with ChildFund’s local partner, Ding Ding Bantaba Federation. In this role, he monitored the growth and wellbeing of infants and young children.

Supported by the Federation, Samba earned a Diploma in Community Development from WARD and was later appointed Community Mobilizer, where he managed child sponsorship programs and supported needs assessments and program implementation.

He went on to earn a BSc in Development Studies (Magna Cum Laude) from the University of The Gambia, which led to his promotion as Sponsorship and Program Coordinator, a position he held for seven years. In 2023, Samba completed a Master’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy and was appointed Business Development Specialist at ChildFund. In this role, he leads efforts to grow partnerships and mobilize resources to improve the lives of children and families.
