Putting Children First
Over 60% of The Gambia’s population—approximately 1.7 million children and youth—are 25 years old or younger. Despite some progress, poverty affects approximately 48% of the population, and deep inequalities continue to prevent many young Gambians from reaching their full potential.
That’s why we work to connect children with the people, institutions, and resources they need to grow up healthy, educated, skilled, and safe. Every year, our programs aim to reach 1.1 million children and their families, helping to create a brighter future for the next generation.

Introducing Social and Financial Education into The Gambia’s School Curriculum
ChildFund, in partnership with Aflatoun International, is collaborating with the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education to embed social and financial education into the national school curriculum. The program has now been fully integrated and scaled across 100 primary schools nationwide.
