Alhagie is a trained teacher with a Higher Teachers Certificate from The Gambia College School of Education. He began his teaching career in 2006 as a Qualified Teacher with the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, where he taught Social and Environmental Studies and Agricultural Science. His love for people and community-driven work has always been a driving force in his career.

In 2016, Alhagie graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Education, specializing in History and English Language, from the University of The Gambia. He was then promoted to Education Cluster Monitor, a role he held until 2019.

In 2019, Alhagie joined ChildFund as a Project Coordinator for the Korea Grant. After a year, he moved to the role of Officer, Logistics and General Services, overseeing the Gift-In-Kind (GIK) program and managing procurement and administrative tasks.
In October 2025, Alhagie was appointed Specialist II, HR and Admin at ChildFund The Gambia, where he continues to support the organization’s HR and administrative functions, always motivated by his passion for people and making a positive impact on their lives
